2020 developed into a challenging year; started well with a robust bank of bookings encompassing Spring, Summer and Fall…..then COVID 19.
Restrictions galore, Atlantic bubble in situ, self isolation, social distancing…..all factors which, on the face of it, could have decimated our vacation rental season. Thank goodness that Atlantic Canadians love Nova Scotia plus it’s a great place to make movies ! We managed to salvage our season with ‘Maritime Clients’ plus a couple of Film Production Companies booked our remains capacity through to the end of September 2020. We now approach the 2021 vacation rental season with ongoing tighter travel restrictions coupled with no prospect of International Borders opening this year….Challenging times indeed again!
On the other hand, our Long Term Rental business is going from strength to strength. We currently have thirteen locations (some advertised, some not), all occupied coupled with a healthy waiting list. Demand outstripping supply here, without a doubt.
Property Management remains busy; we now look after more than twenty homes on a weekly basis as well as the Condominium complex at Deep Cove; a further eighteen homes.
The Project Management side has shown again considerable growth in managing renovation and building projects for our absent owners.
Once again, thanks to all our sub and third party contractors for going above and beyond in very trying circumstances.
This last year has given me time to realize we are blessed where we live, (here in Queens County Nova Scotia), for a multitude of reasons (including extremely low COVID numbers!)….I hope to provide a glimpse into what we can easily take for granted by publishing selected photos on my Business Facebook Page titled under the banner ‘I Ask No More Of Life’ series.
